Florida Massage for Special Needs Population and Pediatric Massage

Massage for Special Needs Population and Pediatric Massage

May 18 Instructor: Ben Dillard
The effects of massage on children and those with special needs are overwhelmingly positive, often with life-changing results. Yet, these populations are generally underserved in the area of massage therapy. This course will introduce you to this rewarding work, and empower students to expand their services to these markets.

In class, you will learn from a highly-rated and entertaining instructor who keeps things moving and fun with his enthusiasm and vast experience. He will explain the appropriate techniques and applications of those techniques for various special needs, such as cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, paralysis and autism, as well as infants and children. He also sheds light on the need for pediatric massage, from newborns to children participating in sports and dance. Students not only practice on their tables, but also role-play to acquire essential communication skills for building client relationships.

You will leave the class with the confidence, motivation and skills to improve the lives of children and people with special needs through your massage therapy.

*Students should bring a massage table, linens and an open mind.*

Registration will begin at 7:45 am. Class will be from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm with breaks for lunch and dinner and breaks throughout the day.
