About the Presenter:
Leslie Peters, RN
Trauma Informed S.E.L.F. C.A.R.E. Strategist

Leslie Peters, RN is a woman with a story. She sees her story as a gift that propelled her into the world in search of connection. She not only found connection but uncovered the secret of living life with H.E.A.R.T. through her freedom to just be. It was H.E.A.R.T. that prepared her for a 30- year career working as a Home Visitor with at-risk pregnant women in some of the poorest sections of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Living and practicing with a foundation of Honesty, Empathy, Acceptance, Respect, and Trust taught both Ms. Peters and her clients the impact of feeling seen, heard, and validated for our "humanness" not "brokenness". Patient non-compliance turned into compliance. Outcomes improved in part because clients felt better about themselves. Clients began to develop self-awareness and many began to see the cycle of their family story and made adjustments to their own parenting style. It was here that she developed a passion for helping patients and providers develop a healthier relationship with themselves; and a mission to Break the Cycle of the Family Story of Adverse Childhood Experiences. She is the creator of The H.E.A.R.T. Mode, a multi-phase trauma informed self-awareness program for providers and patients. Ms. Peters is a speaker, author, teacher, and holistic healer, mentoring women on how to feel safe in their own skin.
